Events coming up.....

On Sunday 25th June the National Botanic Garden of Wales near Carmarthen is celebrating Wales Wildflower Day (more info here). I will be there making a felt wild flower, amongst other wild flower inspired artists.....





Coming up in July is the Tywi Valley Open Studios Arts Trail. This year 37 artists and craftspeople are opening their studios and homes to the public, free of charge during the last week of July.

This year, I will be sharing the studio space of fellow felter Jane Evans up at Cilycwm near Llandovery. Jane is a gifted feltmaker who has become besotted with the art since she attended a workshop only last year! She is a real inspiration to anyone thinking of taking up felting. (Jane's website)

Tywi Valley Open Studios Arts Trail is here!

It's finally here! Wow! The Tywi Valley really is buzzing with some amazingly talented artists and craftspeople..... Continuing all this week is the Tywi Valley Open Studios Arts Trail......

''there are potters, ceramicists, sculptors, stone carvers, textile artists, painters, print makers and goodness only knows what else. There are 19 of us this year and we would all love you to visit us in our Studios.....'' to quote fellow textile artist Jeannie Cottage.

I am exhibiting felt textiles and mixed media creations at the Foot Clinic (my temporary studio for the week) in (27 Carmarthen Street, Llandeilo) do call by if you are passing. There are mini felt workshops running through the week too at 11-1pm & 2-4pm, a giveaway at £6 for a 2 hr session inc materials....... There's already been some fabulous felting going on , there's still a few places available for later in the week, booking essential, 2 places each session....email info@calonwlanfelt.co.uk to book.

Tywi Valley Open Studios

I'll be participating in the Tywi Valley Open Studios Arts Trail from 30th July to 7th August.
For the duration of the Arts Trail I will be exhibiting felt textiles and mixed media creations at The Foot Clinic, 27 Carmarthen Street, Llandeilo, SA19 6AN


Directions:
Turn off the A40 (Llandeilo by-pass) into Llandeilo and continue for approx half a mile. Then 200 yards after the entrance of Dinefwr Park, turn right into Carmarthen Street, you will see the Foot Clinic just past the Old Market Hall on your right next to Chinese take-away.
(NOT suitable for wheelchairs. Parking outside.)

I will be running mini FELT WORKSHOPS at the Foot Clinic:

‘Wool is wonderful!’ An introduction to traditional felt-making techniques (mini workshop). Have a go at making a small wall-hanging.  Advance booking essential, maximum 2 people per session. £6 including materials. All equipment provided.

2pm – 4pm  Sun 31st July & Wed 3rd  until  Sat 6th August

Wonderwool 2016

Phew!!! I made it through Wonderwool, arrived home and promptly fell into bed with the flu!!

It was an amazing weekend of fibres and lovely people. Thanks so much to everyone who called by my stand to say hello, thanks to all those who bought some fibre-goodies, thanks to everyone who came on the Cobweb-felt scarflet workshops. Lovely ladies all of you.......I am so grateful (beyond words) to the lovely Hazel Dundee who held the fort for me, couldn't have done it without you.......big hug! Thanks to the amazing organisation of the crew there, fabulous! well done!
